ESOPs are good for customers as well as Employees. If you follow the Employee Ownership space you already know the life-changing magic that ESOPs can deliver to the employee owners who are a part of them. Less commonly acknowledged is the impact the ESOPs have on their customers – or rather – the consistency that ESOPs deliver to their customers when other P.E.-owned competitors do their thing. Michael Sale, CEO of System Scale, writes the most cogent explanation of how a P.E.-owned company behaves versus an employee-owned company when it comes to the customer.
